WATERWORKS:

Chemical and beacteriological analysis have given

good results for both the Island and the Mainland.

Storage at the end of October was approximately 5,700 m.g. with the daily consumption approaching the 25 m.g. mark.

A considerable amount of leakage has been stopped. Repairs to the distribution system are being

Good undertaken as far as limited supplies and material permits. progress has been made in cleaning slow sand filter beds, of which about 50% are now ready. With the rehabilitation of Pokfulam Pumping Station, supplies are now available to the Mid-Levels.

Repairs to Tai Tam Tuk are continuing. Queen Mary Hospital and Pokfulam District are under supplies from the Pokfulam Reservoir Pumps.

Middle Gap Pumps are now being repaired. The preparation of Log books for keeping records and forms required by the Ordinance is being continued.
